Phonics Fun

Ages 4-6.

In this class children are introduced to the phonetic sounds of letters. We reinforce this through stories, games and other activities.

These are fun, play-based classes teaching the phonics sounds of the alphabet and how letters work together to make words. Your child will start identifying beginning, middle and end sounds in words, recognizing written letters and eventually reading short words.

Open to native English speakers, graduates from our playgroup or students with some knowledge of English.

Phonics Fun

The cost for this group is CHF 460 per quarter (10 x 1.5 hour classes)

We offer sibling discounts and private lessons.

Reading and writing

1 and 2

Ages 6-8.

These classes are for children just starting to explore the world of reading. We build upon what they’ve learned in our Phonics Fun class.

Spelling and phonics are emphasized and a systematic progression is used for learning word families, sight words and important spelling rules to develop early reading and writing skills.

We continue in class 2 with rhyming words, consonant blends, magic e, silent letters and writing simple sentences.

Coding for Kids

Ages 7-15.

Technology has a language; it’s called code.

At Codecrackers.ch we believe coding is an essential skill. Learning to code teaches you how to solve problems and work together in creative ways. It helps you build apps that bring your ideas to life and engages our students’ imaginations fostering creativity, logical thinking and problem solving.

We think everyone should have the opportunity to create something that can change the world. We introduce kids to exercises designed to explain how a computer works, teach the fundamentals of computer programming, and engage our students’ imagination.

We begin with Scratch, developed by MIT, and move on to Python and in some classes we’ll even program robots. As Barak Obama said, “Don’t just play on your device, program it”.

We believe our children need an introduction to the language of computers to see that their gadgets can be outlets for their natural creativity and not just for passive entertainment. And since all coding language is in English it’s the perfect place to learn coding.

Classes are ongoing and can be joined anytime since we usually do projects that can be finished in two sessions

Wednesdays 18:00 - 19:30

There are no classes during Aargau school holidays
